Kiss the cook

What’s your favorite thing to cook?

My culinary skills are nil. In college, I survived on Kraft mac & cheese, fatty hamburger and potatoes I’d wrap in aluminum foil and stick in the oven. At 20, passing midterms was my biggest concern; cholesterol, not so much.

But my wife…ah, there’s a different story. I think she was born with this instinctive knowledge of what goes good with what.

We’ve started this tradition of trying to follow Rachael Ray as she does one of her “30 minute meals.” We usually get done in 60-90 minutes bc my wife is kind and explains what she’s doing as we go along and teaches me techniques and tips.

The best one we’ve found so far is filet mignon, broiled, with gorgonzola cheese melted on the top; sauteed green beans; and a baked potato with grated cheddar, sour cream and chives. We had it with a nice Cabernet Sauvignon and it’s honestly the best meal I’ve ever had.

Musta been the company 😎
